I was born and raised here in Ojai California, but would spend my summers in Wyoming. My love of flowers began as a young child. I would always be picking wild flowers and filled every room of our house with whatever was blooming in our yard or neighborhood. I also used to bring my teachers flowers weekly, wrap them in a wet paper towel and tinfoil and carry them on the bus! I started my family very young and now have 4 adult children that also reside here in our beloved valley, and 3 beautiful grand daughters as well! I spent 20 years raising my family and once they were grown I went on to college to learn Landscape Design. I worked for several years instructing and learning about our California native plants and landscape, then ended up back to floral my first love. I have worked for several retail flower shops and event florists here in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. I have learned so much from all the wonderful designers I've had the pleasure of working with. I have taken this knowledge and am now fulfilling a life long dream of opening Blooming Ruby's, so here it goes! The only thing that supersedes my love of flowers is my love for people. I consider it a great privilege to represent the love, sympathy, thoughtfulness and kindness to their loved ones. I take great pride in helping others discover exactly what they want. I named my shop after my grandmother Ruby, of whom I was a miniature of, she loved making things beautiful around her as do I. Thank you for the opportunity to make something just your style

We choose containers that are a step above your average glass vase, that can be repurposed for other uses in the home once the flowers have lost their shine. We try to design with the recipients' taste in mind and take great joy when we deliver an arrangement and it looks as if it was designed to be in their home! When you don't know what to order we will do our absolute best to custom your order for your needs. We recommend choosing a designers choice in your budget and in the comment area tell us about the occasion and what you know about the recipients' style! Informing us of how they dress, decorate, garden etc. will give us valuableinformation to create just the right gift!
